Create empathic and effective people. Let them loose on the world.
We believe this approach is the way to create the largest amount of change we can.
Strategy
How we’re going to do it
Start with individuals.
Get them to a self-reinforcing level of empathy and effectiveness.
Once that's done, figure out how to do that at scale.
The question we’re trying to answer is - what is the optimum system to create people with optimum systems?
So improve the system of individuals 1:1 first, then improve the system of delivering that improvement, and do that forever. This will involve teaching other people how to think about the system and having them scale it.

Where we could fail
Venture studios fail because building a company requires all of a single person’s attention. The founder’s attention being divided between multiple projects means its harder for any one to succeed.
The only way to build multiple at the same time is to have completely independent operators who can focus on a single project.
So the goal of the Hive venture studio isn’t to build multiple companies - it’s to build multiple competent, independent founders and operators who can successfully build their own companies.
So the biggest risk is that we may fail to find the right people and train them well enough to start commercially viable companies.
